Krispy Kreme is giving a free doughnut with no purchase necessary on June 5th.
Its in celebration of "National Doughnut Day". Who invented that? Well surprisingly (to me at least) National Doughnut Day was not invented by Krispy Kreme to promote doughnut sales. According to this site it is in honor of Salvation Army "lassies" of WWI.
