Follow up on eBay ripoff

A couple weeks ago I talked about how I narrowly avoided being ripped off for $75 by a seller on eBay. After I saw that the seller was unregistered I sent eBay an email to ask them what was going on. That was Sunday July 19th. Today I got a response from eBay. The response is about 6 paragraphs of text that I will summarize for you as : "We can't tell you what happened but you probably shouldn't pay them." Basically what I assumed the response might be. Big companies will hide behind their privacy policy as a reason why they can't tell people anything about anything. I find that annoying, if someone broke eBay's rules and eBay deleted their account then eBay should really be open about that kind of thing. But they are worried that the seller will sue them for libel so they decide not to tell me what happened to safely cover themselves. Of course there is also the possibility that the seller spontaneously deleted his account all on his own and eBay doesn't have a clue what happened, but I think thats pretty unlikely.

Anyway, now I know what eBay's response is.

I am a little annoyed that it took eBay over two weeks to reply to my mail. Whats up with that?!
