Not all prices are going up.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that May inflation is up +4.2% from last year. With the cost of gas going through the roof lately and the grocery bill rising as well it is easy to see first hand that many prices are going up. But while some prices are certainly going up a lot, not everything is increasing in price. The full CPI report with the increases for each category is posted here.

Here are a few prices that have actually gone down in the past year:

Womens and girls apparel : -5%
New cars : -1.2%
Personal computers and peripherals : -13%
Video and audio recreation : -0.6%

Of course this doesn't help the sting of spending $100 to fill up your cars gas tank but I just wanted to point out that its not ALL bad.
